Stanzin Angdon is a bright and endlessly curious seven-year-old, her sharp mind always eager to explore and learn. She comes from a nomadic family and lives in a tent in Samad Rockchan on the Tibetan plateaus of India. Her father, a shepherd for hire, struggles with alcohol addiction, which further strains the family’s limited resources. Her mother, a homemaker, looks after Stanzin and her younger brother.

The family faces significant economic challenges, compounded by the harsh Himalayan conditions where temperatures can plummet to an unforgiving -25°C. Despite these hardships, Stanzin'sparents dream of a better future for her, one that includes a good education and opportunities they never had.

Currently, Stanzin is in the Lower Kindergarten (LKG) grade at GonpaMiddle School. She now resides at Amrita-Seattle's Home of the Snow Lion, a residential home for at-risk girls. Here, Stanzin receives the support and care she needs to pursue her education and nurture her bright, inquisitive nature. Her parents' hopes rest on her shoulders, and she carries the promise of a future filled with possibilities.
