September marks the National Nutrition Month across India.
Collaboration with the W. Bengal Govt's. Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) program for National Nutrition Month to intensively disseminate key messages to all intended beneficiaries on positive nutritional behaviours and practices wellness advocacy.
Our focus was to improve the nutritional status of women, pregnant and lactating mothers. When mothers are healthy, their children are more likely to survive and thrive! Amrita-Seattle provided Baby Care kits. Kits included baby care hygiene items, infant food, clothing, bathing sets, nutritious food supply (sourced from local staple items) for mothers, and essentials for post-pregnancy recovery.
Local nurses and healthcare providers will lead advocacy on fertility, biology and hygiene to the mothers receiving the kits.
