Amrita-Seattle’s Girls at Home of the Snow Lion in Ladakh win 1st Position at the district-level Waste to Art Symposium
We are thrilled to announce that the children from Amrita-Seattle’s Home of the Snow Lion in Ladakh have won First Prize at the district-level Waste to Art Symposium, part of the Swachh Bharat (Clean India) campaign! Their exceptional artwork, a detailed landscape of the Old Town of Leh, was crafted using waste cloth scraps discarded by local tailors. This project beautifully showcases their creativity and commitment to environmental sustainability while celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Ladakh.
The artwork not only highlights the students' artistic talents but also reflects their innovative approach to recycling, transforming discarded materials into a stunning tribute to their hometown, the Himalayas, and their rich heritage. Through this unique piece, our students have raised awareness about the importance of waste reduction and the beauty of repurposing materials to honor the history and spirit of their land.

A special shout-out goes to their incredible art teacher, Stanzin Wangail of Spindle Art Studio, whose expertise in art therapy has deeply impacted the children's creative growth. Stanzin works closely with the students every day, helping them express themselves through art and guiding them in their journey of self-discovery and creative exploration.
We are incredibly proud of our students and their outstanding achievement! Kudos to Stanzin Wangail for nurturing their artistic potential and guiding them through this meaningful project.
Congratulations to all involved—your hard work, creativity, and dedication are an inspiration to us all. Keep up the fantastic work!
